@puckrin
Macro analyst and founder of Coin Bureau. In May and June he was bearish: he expected a drop to $55,700–$58,200, and Bitcoin fell to $58,566 on 1 July, 0.6% above his range. He called the June bounce a dead-cat bounce, and it was. From August he turned bullish, and on 22 September, at the window high of $86,597, he posted “The cycle has turned”. Bitcoin is at $75,929.
In short. Nic Puckrin is a macro analyst who founded Coin Bureau and posts on X as @puckrin. On our sample of nine dated Bitcoin calls, the record is 4 played out, 5 open, 0 went against. His bearish calls from May and June read the trend right, but both of his downside levels stopped about 1% short on daily marks. His bullish calls since August are mostly still open.
On his own website Puckrin says he studied Financial Engineering at Imperial College London, began his career at Goldman Sachs in London in derivatives and quantitative analysis, and founded Coin Bureau in 2017. He says Coin Bureau reaches an audience of over three million, and that he is based in Dubai. His X bio reads “Founder @coinbureau | Host @FinanceBureau_ | Ex @GoldmanSachs”.
He is not the presenter of the Coin Bureau YouTube channel, who is known as Guy. Puckrin's comments reach the press under his own name. Outlets such as Yahoo Finance, Crowdfund Insider, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post quote him as a macro analyst or as Coin Bureau's founder or CEO.
Most of his posts are about macro, not Bitcoin levels: bond yields, oil, the Fed, AI stocks and crypto policy. We charted only the posts and comments that give a Bitcoin level, a direction or a bottom.
Calls not charted on their own card: on 4 May he said “If Bitcoin can’t hold above $79,500 today, a meaningful move higher becomes less likely”; Bitcoin's daily marks stayed above $79,500 from 5 to 13 May, peaking at $82,018 on 11 May, then fell. On 15 May he said $82,000 was “an important one to clear if we’re to see a rally toward $90,000”; no daily mark cleared it until 22 September, and $90,000 has not come. Both appeared in Crowdfund Insider.

Macro first, then levels. Puckrin starts from oil, yields, the Fed and ETF flows, then names the Bitcoin levels that would change his mind, such as $70,000 and $74,000. Many of his calls are conditional: “if we close the week below”, “if it can hold above”. His tone is measured in press comments and punchier on X, with capital letters and “WILD”.
Bearish from May to June, when he expected a final flush to the high $50,000s. From August, after Bitcoin's rebound, he turned bullish and wrote that he would not count on new lows this cycle.
Nine dated Bitcoin calls from Nic Puckrin's X posts and his named comments in the press, charted against real price. The tally is 4 played out, 5 open, 0 went against.
“Was great joining Cito & Tristan on Double Down podcast for an epic discussion. The cycle has turned - time to double down on Bitcoin.”
Said at $86,597, the highest daily mark in our window. Bitcoin has not closed higher since, and it is at $75,929 (−12.3%), its lowest mark since the call. No deadline. Open, and so far against him.
𝕏 Post“The cycle has turned - time to double down on Bitcoin.” — Nic Puckrin on X↗ x.com“The debt is going nowhere. The debasement trade is back on. I wouldn't pin my hopes on sweeping lows again this cycle.”
Said at $77,297 (daily mark), as Bitcoin went back above $80,000; the next day's mark was $81,265. Bitcoin rose to $86,597 (+12.0%) on 22 September and is at $75,929 (−1.8%). The cycle low of $58,566 is far below. Holding, but the cycle is not over. Open.
𝕏 Post“I wouldn't pin my hopes on sweeping lows again this cycle.” — Nic Puckrin on X↗ x.com“What's incredible about this Bitcoin rally isn't that it's happening - it's known to melt up like this. It's that it's doing so while equities are trending lower. Truly a unique setup. $74k next.”
Posted at 01:12 UTC, an hour after a daily mark of $73,021, so the target was close. The next day's mark was $78,318 (+7.3%), and Bitcoin went on to $86,597 (+18.6%) on 22 September. It is at $75,929 (+4.0%). Played out, on a near target.
𝕏 Post“$74k next.” — Nic Puckrin on X↗ x.com“Bitcoin will reclaim $100k. But not this year. The current relief rally is on the back of the buyback announcement combined with a short squeeze. But the hawkish FOMC and midterm elections could cap the rally.”
Said at $69,291 (daily mark); the next day's mark was $73,021. Bitcoin rose to $86,597 (+25.0%) on 22 September, short of $100,000, and is at $75,929 (+9.6%). The “not this year” half has held so far; the $100,000 half has no date. Open.
𝕏 Post“Bitcoin will reclaim $100k. But not this year.” — Nic Puckrin on X↗ x.com“BTC has fallen below its 200w SMA & is close to breaking $60k. This has been a crucial support throughout this cycle. If we close the week below, the next potential level could be $57.9k. That will mark a new low this cycle.”
Said at $62,662. The week closed below $60,000 ($59,495 on the 29 June mark), and Bitcoin fell to $58,566 (−6.5%) on 1 July, a new cycle low but 1.1% above $57,900. It then rose to $86,597 (+38.2%) on 22 September and is at $75,929 (+21.2%). Right on direction, short on the level. Mixed.
𝕏 Post“If we close the week below, the next potential level could be $57.9k.” — Nic Puckrin on X↗ x.com“If bitcoin can decisively break above $70,000 and reclaim prior support levels around $74,000, that would give me more confidence. Until then, this looks more like a dead-cat bounce”
Said at $65,709, as Bitcoin jumped on news of a US-Iran ceasefire. The bounce stalled at $66,293 the next day, and Bitcoin fell to $58,566 (−10.9%) on 1 July. It did not close above $70,000 until 21 August. Played out.
Source“This looks more like a dead-cat bounce” — Nic Puckrin to Yahoo Finance↗ finance.yahoo.com“Right now, the daily RSI is at the lowest level since March 2020. These are EXTREME oversold levels. The good news: that previously marked the bottom & BTC went on to hit new highs a year later. Bottom could be close.”
Said at $60,960. Bitcoin fell a further 3.9% to $58,566 on 1 July, the low of our window, then rose to $86,597 (+42.1%) on 22 September. It is at $75,929 (+24.6%). The bottom came 25 days later and 3.9% lower. Played out.
𝕏 Post“Bottom could be close.” — Nic Puckrin on X↗ x.com“Having broken below the $73k support level, Bitcoin now needs to hold above $70k to avoid a more significant slide lower.”
Said at $73,599. Bitcoin's daily mark fell under $70,000 on 3 June ($66,727), then to $60,960 (−17.2%) on 6 June and $58,566 (−20.4%) on 1 July. It is at $75,929 (+3.2%). The slide he warned of came. Played out.
Source“Bitcoin now needs to hold above $70k” — Nic Puckrin in Crowdfund Insider↗ crowdfundinsider.com“I still expect to see a drop to the bear market range between $55,700 and $58,200 in the coming months, driven by a broader corporate sell-off by miners and digital asset treasuries.”
Published at $78,208. Bitcoin rose to $82,018 (+4.9%) on 11 May, then fell to $58,566 (−25.1%) on 1 July, 0.6% above the top of his range. It is at $75,929 (−2.9%). The drop came, but on daily marks it did not reach the range. Mixed.
Source“I still expect to see a drop to the bear market range between $55,700 and $58,200” — Nic Puckrin in Crowdfund Insider↗ crowdfundinsider.comOutcomes are our read of the stated claim against real price, not the author's own scoring. Selection: we read the 737 posts of his own that his X profile feed returned for 20 August to 6 November 2026, and searched the press for his named comments from April onward. We chart every one that gives a Bitcoin level, a direction or a bottom; two more are listed under Background. Each call is measured from the daily CoinGecko mark on the day it was said or published. The 2 May comment ran in a weekly roundup and was given in the days before. The 20 August post was made at 17:10 UTC and the 3 September post at 15:09 UTC, so the next day's marks ($73,021 and $81,265) are closer to the moment he posted. Both downside levels, $58,200 and $57,900, were missed by about 1% on daily marks; intraday prices may have gone lower, but we grade on daily marks and count them as open, not as hits. A call with no deadline stays open until price settles it.
Puckrin's income is tied to Coin Bureau, a crypto media and education business, rather than to a fund. Here is where his money meets his calls.
He founded Coin Bureau, which he says reaches over three million people. Its website runs a Deals page that promotes sign-up bonuses at crypto exchanges such as Bitget and Bybit. More interest in crypto means more readers and more sign-ups.
His own site offers him for media commentary, interviews and paid speaking, from a studio in Dubai. He also hosts Finance Bureau, named in his X bio.
We found no public statement of his own Bitcoin or crypto holdings.
