Value investor who runs Alpine Fox and sits on the boards of Bakkt and IREN. On 14 April he saw a springtime melt-up, and on 13 June he posted “The bottom is in”; both went against. On 2 July he posted “Bitcoin has bottomed” at $59,968, one day after the window low of $58,566, and on 3 August he called the move back to $70,000, which came on 21 August. On 27 October he called $100,000 by Thanksgiving; Bitcoin is at $75,929.
In short. Mike Alfred is a value investor and board director who posts on X as @mikealfred. On our sample of seven dated calls, the record is 2 played out, 3 open, 2 went against. He called the bottom more than once: the June call broke, the July call held. None of his targets of $100,000 or more has been reached, and Bitcoin's highest mark in our window was $86,597.
Bakkt's board page says Alfred founded and runs Alpine Fox LP, “a private investment partnership focused on value equities and Bitcoin”. He co-founded Digital Assets Data in January 2018 and was its CEO until its sale to NYDIG in November 2020. He has a history degree from Stanford.
He joined the Bakkt board in September 2025, and he also sits on the board of IREN, a Bitcoin mining and AI data center company. His X bio reads “Engaged value investor and board director. Recovering tech entrepreneur.”
Before our price window, in March 2026, he posted “$140,000 Bitcoin is coming. Sooner than most expect.” Bitcoin has not traded above $86,597 since our window opened in April.
Calls not charted on their own card, because a charted call makes the same bet: on 7 June he posted that the bull run would take Bitcoin “from $60,000 to at least the $315,000 area”. On The Bitcoin Historian podcast, published on 2 June, he said the next move would take Bitcoin to “150, 200, 250”, as CCN reported. On Scott Melker's show on 2 September he said “I could see Bitcoin at $300,000. I could see Ethereum at $10,000 or more”, with no date, as Benzinga reported. On 24 October, on Anthony Scaramucci's podcast, he said he would bet up to $1 million that Bitcoin hits $100,000 before $60,000.

Macro calls from a stock picker. Alfred reads oil, bond yields, the dollar and jobs data, then calls Bitcoin from there. He often names his stock picks in the same post, such as Opendoor (OPEN) and Cipher Mining (CIFR). His tone is blunt and often sarcastic, and he mocks the bears. He sets far targets ($315,000, $1 million) and some short deadlines, such as Thanksgiving.
Bullish on Bitcoin in every post and interview we read, through a 21% fall from April to July. He reads dips as chances to buy rather than as a reason to cut a target.
Seven dated Bitcoin calls from Mike Alfred's own X posts, charted against real price. The tally is 2 played out, 3 open, 2 went against.

Said at $74,482. Bitcoin rose to $82,018 (+10.1%) on 11 May, then turned down. On 21 June, the last day of spring, it was at $64,253 (−13.7%), and it fell to $58,566 (−21.4%) on 1 July. It is at $75,929 (+1.9%). No melt-up came in spring, and $100,000 was not reached. Went against.
𝕏 Post“Bitcoin on a mission to re-take $100,000.” — Mike Alfred on X↗ x.comOutcomes are our read of the stated claim against real price, not the author's own scoring. Selection: we read the 309 posts of his own that his X profile feed returned for January to November 2026, and chart every in-window post that states a Bitcoin level, a bottom or a deadline. A target he repeats is charted once, at its first in-window post; repeats are listed under Background. Each call is measured from the daily CoinGecko mark on the day it was said. The 23 May post was made at 22:05 UTC and the 27 October post at 21:55 UTC, so the next day's marks ($76,684 and $80,801) are closer to the moment he posted. The 3 August post opens with a joke about buying Jim Cramer's Bitcoin at $62,250; the call itself is the $70,000 move. We count spring as ending on 21 June. A call with no deadline stays open until price settles it.
Alfred invests his own fund in Bitcoin and in listed companies whose shares rise with it, and sits on two of their boards. Here is where his money is tied to his calls.
He is founder and managing partner of Alpine Fox, a private fund in value stocks and Bitcoin, per Bakkt's board page. In September he told Scott Melker he had been buying heavily in the dip, mainly Bitcoin and Ethereum, as Benzinga reported.
He is a director of Bakkt, a crypto company, and of IREN, a Bitcoin mining and AI data center company, both listed in New York. A higher Bitcoin price helps both.
His posts often pair a Bitcoin call with stock picks. The 23 May call also named Opendoor (OPEN) and Cipher Mining (CIFR) targets. In September he talked up Strive (ASST) and BitMine (BMNR), as Benzinga reported.
