Mags is a pseudonymous Bitcoin chart analyst who posts long-term cycle charts to about 109,000 followers on X as @thescalpingpro. In March and May they pointed to the 200-week moving average, near $59,000–61,000, as the likely bottom zone, and Bitcoin's lowest close of our window came there on 1 July. Their April breakout call to $85,500 went against them. Since September they have expected one more leg down, to about $56,000 by December, and Bitcoin has risen instead so far.

In short. Mags posts as @thescalpingpro. On our sample of six Bitcoin calls from 24 March to 16 September the record is 3 played out, 2 open, 1 went against. Their moving-average bottom zone and their 6 June “bottom is closer” post were right. The April breakout to $85,500 did not come. Their call for a final drop to about $56,000 by December is still open.

Background — what is documented, and what is not

The @thescalpingpro account was opened in January 2019 and carries X's paid verification badge. The bio reads “#Bitcoin holder since 2016 | Crypto Trader & Analyst | Patterns / Fractals | Bitcoin 500 day strategy”. CaptainAltcoin quoted the account as “analyst Mags” in September. We found no public record of the person's full name or country, so this page uses they/them.

Their method is long-term cycle work: the 200- and 300-week moving averages, multi-year trendlines, comparisons with the 2018 and 2022 bear markets, and chart “fractals”. Many posts are a chart with one line, like “#Bitcoin - What if this plays out👀”. Those have no level or direction in the text, so we do not grade them.

The fxtwitter feed returned 49 of their own posts from 21 February to 8 October 2026, almost all about Bitcoin. Their “500-Day Bitcoin Strategy” says to buy 500 days before the next halving. In April and July they put that date at 13 January 2027. On 6 September they wrote that the halving was about 585 days away, which put the buy date about 85 days out, on 30 November. On 1 September they wrote that their X account and computer had been hacked in late August, and that a memecoin post from the account was not theirs. That post is not graded here.

Trading style & philosophy

Cycle first, then the level. Mags compares this bear market with 2018 and 2022 and names the long-term average where they think it ends. Calls often come as questions, like “#Bitcoin - The final leg down coming?”, followed by the level and why. Their timing is slow: the bottom zone they named in March came three months later.

Cautious. Since 1 September they have expected “The final leg down” before a new bull market, with a possible bottom near the 300-week average around December. On 8 October they called a hold of the ~$74K support “critical”.

Outcomes are our read of the stated claim against real price, not Mags's own scoring. Every quote is verbatim from the post linked on its card. Each call is charted at that day's midnight CoinGecko mark; the posts went out between 06:11 and 08:45 UTC. We grade on daily closes. The moving-average levels are Mags's own figures, not ours. The “$1,000 in” line on each card assumes buying on the day, even for bearish calls.
