A Dutch on-chain data analyst whose charts are quoted almost daily by crypto news sites. The feed mixes on-chain reads with live trades — “I’m long”, “Shorting on Bitcoin right now” — posted with a prop-firm discount code. Those trades and levels are what this page checks.
In short. Maartunn is a pseudonymous crypto data analyst from the Netherlands (about 47K followers on X). NewsBTC calls Maartunn a “community analyst”, and CryptoQuant hosts dashboards under the name. The posts are mostly on-chain data — whale flows, holder profits, liquidity maps — but also include trades. On this page: six dated calls on Bitcoin and Ethereum from March to September 2026. Two played out, one is open, and three went against — all three of them short trades that price ran through.
Maartunn's X bio reads “Crypto Data Analyst 🧑💼 | In Data We Trust 📊 | Featured in CNBC, Bloomberg 📰”, with the location “Nederland”. The real name is not public. NewsBTC regularly writes up the charts, calling Maartunn a “community analyst” (11 Jun 2026), and CryptoQuant's site lists dashboards authored by Maartunn, such as a Bitcoin Exchange Whale Ratio chart.
Most posts are data: exchange flows, short-term holder profit and loss, Coinbase Premium, open interest, dormant coins moving. Some turn the data into a trade. Since 2026 those trades are posted with a referral code for Breakout, a crypto prop-trading firm — “Trade with me. Use code Maartun for the max discount.”
The calls on this page are the posts that name a direction or a level for BTC or ETH. Trades are graded on what happened to price after the post; the take-profit levels that some posts put in a follow-up reply are not charted. Maartunn's public profiles do not state pronouns, so this page uses they/them.

On-chain levels, then a trade. Maartunn reads realized price, holder cost basis, Coinbase Premium and liquidity clusters, and uses them as support and resistance. The trades are short-term and go both ways. The longs in April worked; the shorts into the summer and autumn rally did not.
Mixed and short-term. The last trade posts, in August and September, were shorts; late-September posts flag short-term holders taking profit and old coins moving, without a new trade.
Six dated calls from Maartunn's own posts on X, charted against real CoinGecko price. Each quote is copied from the post as published and was re-fetched live. Most of the feed is on-chain data with no call; we charted the posts that name a trade, a level or a target for BTC or ETH.
“Low-timeframe rotation here could set up a beautiful short.”
The post said BTC had lost its range low at $80,500 and was only retesting it from below. BTC was $81,236. Two days later it closed at $86,597 (+6.6%), the high of the whole period, and it is $83,145 now (+2.3%). The lowest close since is $81,169 (−0.1%). Went against.
𝕏 Post“Bitcoin is retesting the drop-off point” — @JA_Maartun on X↗ x.com“Shorting on Bitcoin right now📉 Stop: $80,000”
A short at $77,712 with a stop at $80,000; the post called it a “high-risk setup given the strong upside momentum”. BTC closed at $80,268 (+3.3%) on 28 Aug, above the stop. It did dip to $75,590 (−2.7%) on 16 Sep, but only after the stop, and it is $83,145 now (+7.0%). Went against.
𝕏 Post“Shorting on Bitcoin right now” — @JA_Maartun on X↗ x.com“Short $ETH on @breakoutprop.”
A short at $1,570, with the target “the start of the recent pump, potentially lower” and the stop above the previous high. That close was the lowest ETH price after the post. ETH was $1,699 (+8.2%) two days later, peaked at $2,775 (+76.8%) on 22 Sep, and is $2,666 now (+69.8%). Went against.
𝕏 Post“Rejection at the previous high.” — @JA_Maartun on X↗ x.com“If we push through, things could accelerate fast toward $85K–$95K.”
BTC was $74,482. The push came, but stalled at $82,018 on 11 May; then BTC fell through the $65K–$70K support to $58,566 (−21.4%) on 1 Jul. It finally touched the low end of the range, $86,597 (+16.3%), on 22 Sep, and is $83,145 now (+11.6%). The target was reached, but five months later and not the fast way the post described. Mixed.
𝕏 Post“~$65K - $70K on-chain support cluster still holding.” — @JA_Maartun on X↗ x.com“I'm long ✅ Bitcoin is holding that support pretty well.”
A long at $70,661, with the post pointing to strong Coinbase Premium. BTC rose to $82,018 (+16.1%) by 11 May. It later fell to $58,566 (−17.1%) on 1 Jul, and it is $83,145 now (+17.7%). The post gave no stop or target; the first move was the right way. Played out.
𝕏 Post“Long on @breakoutprop” — @JA_Maartun on X↗ x.com“ETH faces its first key resistance at the realized price of $2,306.”
ETH was $2,172, below the level. It fell to $1,982 (−8.8%) by 30 Mar and did not close above $2,306 until 14 Apr ($2,374). The level held as short-term resistance, as the post said. ETH later fell to $1,566 (−27.9%) and is $2,666 now (+22.7%). Played out.
𝕏 Post“Price was rejected at ttheir level just days ago” — @JA_Maartun on X↗ x.comOutcomes are our read of what each post said, measured against real CoinGecko daily closes — not Maartunn's own scoring. The “$1,000 in” line under each chart is a buy-and-hold figure from the day of the call, even for the three short trades, where a short position would have lost money. Stops are checked against daily closes, so an intraday stop-out may have come earlier than the date given.
There is no paid newsletter or course. The money on the X feed comes from referral codes: most trade posts carry a discount code for a prop-trading firm, and some posts promote an exchange.
Trade posts end with a Breakout referral code — “Use code Maartun for the max discount.” Other posts advertise the firm directly: “Over $7,000,000 paid out to traders in August… Backed by Kraken. Use code MAARTUN for 5% off” (14 Sep 2026), and “I’m personally on a $100K funded account” (13 Sep 2026). The more followers who buy an evaluation, the more the code earns.
A 14 Sep 2026 post promoted OKX's pre-IPO “X-Perps” with “Up to 10x leverage” and a deposit voucher offer.
The bio says “Featured in CNBC, Bloomberg”; NewsBTC and other crypto sites quote the on-chain charts several times a month.

The last trade posts were bearish: a Bitcoin short on 24 Aug 2026 with a stop at $80,000, and on 20 Sep a post that a retest of the lost $80,500 range low “could set up a beautiful short.” In April, the call was that a push through the upper band could take BTC toward $85K–$95K.
Of six dated BTC and ETH calls from March to September 2026: two played out (the April long and the ETH resistance at $2,306), one is mixed, and three went against — the July ETH short, the August BTC short and the September short setup. Treat it as a documented opinion, not advice.
The X posts carry referral codes for Breakout, a crypto prop-trading firm, and some promote OKX. There is no paid newsletter.
