~494K on XHead Trader at BullmaniaMoralis co-founder

A Swedish software engineer who built one of crypto's biggest developer-education channels, then rebranded as a trader — his X bio now reads “Head Trader @ Bullmania” and sells a book, an indicator and a terminal. The stance is dated and public, so it can be graded. We graded four in-window calls against real price.

In short. Ivan Liljeqvist — Ivan on Tech — reaches roughly 494,000 followers on X and a long-running YouTube channel. He came up as a developer and educator: he co-founded the Web3 tooling company Moralis and the course platform Moralis Academy (formerly Ivan on Tech Academy). Since then he has repositioned as a trader, monetising a book, a paid indicator and a private community under the Bullmania brand. His 2026 posture is a single connected argument: he says he exited near the October 2025 top, stayed bearish through the first half of 2026, and flipped bullish on 15 June with the caveat that a bit more downside was still coming. On our rolling 2026 sample that flip was well timed — Bitcoin fell to $58,566 two weeks later, exactly as he said, then rallied. His February instruction not to buy the bounce was the miss: Bitcoin rose 19% over the next three months.

Background — from Ericsson programmer to “head trader”

Ivan Liljeqvist is a Swedish developer who studied computer science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and started the Ivan on Tech YouTube channel in 2017 while working as a programmer at Ericsson. The channel's original product was technical explanation — how blockchains actually work — and it grew into one of the most-watched developer-facing crypto channels of that era.

He turned that audience into two businesses. Moralis Academy (formerly Ivan on Tech Academy), co-founded with Filip Martinsson, sells blockchain and Web3 development courses. Moralis, the Web3 developer-tooling company he co-founded and led as CEO, raised institutional venture funding from backers including Coinbase Ventures. That business was not immune to the last downturn: in January 2023 Moralis cut headcount, with Liljeqvist saying, “In response to significant economic change and shifting customer and market priorities, we have decided to reduce our headcount.”

The current identity is different again. His X bio describes him as “Elite trader ($BTC, stocks, commodities)” and Head Trader at Bullmania, a brand that sells a book, a “Money Line” indicator, a screening terminal and a private Discord. That matters when reading him: the educator's incentive was to explain, the trader-brand's incentive is to be seen to have called the turn — and a large share of his 2026 feed is exactly that claim (“We got the top exactly in October”), attached to a product link.

One correction worth making, because aggregator biographies get it wrong: a widely-copied profile lists him as a promoter of the HEX token. The primary record shows the opposite — in Cointelegraph's on-camera debate he challenged Richard Heart over HEX's marketing, raising the comparison to a Ponzi structure. We checked it and did not repeat the claim.

Trading style & philosophy

Cycle analogy first, levels second. Ivan's public framework is historical rhyme rather than precise structure: 2026 is “the new 2022”, the 200-week moving average is the floor, and the sequence is bottom → chop → “Valhalla” in 2027. He reads across assets — silver, AI equities, Bitcoin — and argues rotation between them, which is unusual for a crypto-native account and is genuinely part of his edge. He also talks about stop-losses and position sizing in public, which most influencer accounts do not. The weakness is precision: his X posts almost never carry a target, a stop or an invalidation level, and the sharpest claims are routinely parked behind a video link or a paid product rather than stated in the post itself.

Bearish from October 2025 through the first half of 2026, then bullish from 15 June — with an explicit warning that more downside was still coming first. The number reflects his current stance, which is constructive but patient: he expects chop until Q4 and puts the real upside in 2027.

Track record — his calls, charted

Four dated in-window statements from Ivan on Tech, each captured verbatim and charted against real price. He is a cycle voice, so the calls are directional and conditional (“the bounce is dangerous”, “$60,000 was not the bottom”) rather than targets with stops — we judged them on what price actually did next. The sample is small on purpose: most of his 2026 feed is book promotion, video teasers whose claims live inside untranscribable YouTube uploads, or questions rather than positions. The 15 June bullish flip is the standout; the 11 February warning is the miss.

The best call in the sample, and better than a plain direction flip: he turned bullish and said in the same post that a bit more downside was still coming. That is what happened, in that order. From $65,709 Bitcoin fell −10.9% to $58,566 on 1 July, chopped through the summer, then ran +22.2% to $80,268 by 28 August. It sits +24.1% above his mark today. The rest of the post — “end of chop” by Q4, “Valhalla” in 2027 — is not due yet and is not scored here.

Both sides of the trade in one sentence — and both sides happened. From $2,132 Ethereum fell −26.6% to $1,566, then ran +18.0% to $2,517, and is +18.0% above his mark today. Logged open, because a post that covers both outcomes cannot be wrong and so cannot be right either. It is on this page precisely because leaving it out would flatter the record — the contrarian read of the “doomerism” sentiment was good, but he declined to put a direction on it.

“$60k wasn't the bottom” — right

$1,000 in on his call$1,098 · +9.8%worst dip along the way -21% (−$212)

His one falsifiable claim in the window, and it landed. He said February's low near $60,000 would not hold as the bottom — and it didn't: Bitcoin printed $58,566 on 1 July, −21.2% below the $74,297 he was quoted at. Scored played out, with two caveats stated plainly. “Trend is still down” was wrong first: Bitcoin rallied +10.4% to $82,018 on 11 May before the flush arrived. And the flush has since been bought back — Bitcoin is +9.8% above his level today, so the bearish frame around a correct call has not aged well.

Faded a three-month rally

“Don't trust the pump! This week, I've been warning that the bounce is dangerous. Wait for prices within the rectangle to buy.”

$1,000 in on his call$1,185 · +18.5%worst dip along the way -15% (−$149)

A dated instruction not to buy — and the bounce he called dangerous ran for three more months. From $68,842 Bitcoin rose +19.1% to $82,018 on 11 May before anything broke. The lower prices he told followers to wait for did not arrive until $58,566 on 1 July, −14.9% below his level and nearly five months later; today Bitcoin is +18.5% above it. Directionally vindicated in the end, wrong for the entire period a follower was actually sitting in cash — and because the post names no level and no invalidation, nothing in it told you when to stop waiting.

Outcomes are our read of his stated lean against real price, not his own scoring. Three of the four quotes are verbatim X posts captured from X's own syndication endpoint; the fourth is a press-quoted post confirmed on two independent live pages. Everything we examined and rejected — promos, teasers, out-of-window posts — is listed in the verified corpus rather than quietly dropped. Prices are CoinGecko daily marks. Near-term marks can flip as the cycle resolves.

How he makes money — and where the conflicts are

Ivan has monetised the same audience three different ways in three eras — developer courses, a venture-funded tooling company, and now a trading brand. The current one has the tightest link between what he posts and what he sells, which is the thing to hold in mind while reading his calls.

Bullmania — book, indicator, terminal

His X bio sells a book at bullmania.com/book and “free trading training” at bullmania.com. He has publicly pitched a “Money Line” indicator, the Bullmania Terminal screener and private Discord / alpha streams as the way to act on his views. A feed whose recurring theme is “I called the top in October” is also the marketing for those products.

Moralis & Moralis Academy

He co-founded Moralis, a Web3 developer-tooling company that raised venture funding, and Moralis Academy (formerly Ivan on Tech Academy), which sells blockchain development courses. Moralis cut headcount in January 2023 citing “significant economic change and shifting customer and market priorities.”

YouTube & audience

The Ivan on Tech channel and roughly 494K X followers are the top of the funnel — ad revenue, sponsorship and product placement all sit downstream of it. Several of his 2026 market posts are teasers whose actual claim is inside the video rather than the post.

Undisclosed positions

He talks about having “a war chest” and about exiting near the October 2025 top, but publishes no portfolio, entries or position sizes alongside the calls. There is no public way to check whether he is positioned the way he is posting.

Content library

There is no curated video library here, and that is a finding rather than an omission. Ivan runs an active YouTube channel — linked at the top of this page — but a large share of his 2026 market posts are titles and teasers (“Bitcoin Price Prediction for March 2026”, “If 2026 Is the New 2022, Bitcoin Is About to Do This…”) whose actual claim lives inside a video we cannot transcribe or quote. Rather than paraphrase what we could not verify, we built the track record only from statements he made in writing, with a public timestamp. The full corpus, including every post we examined and rejected, is cited on each card.

Ivan sits between two worlds — developer education and cycle-calling — and his 2026 argument (200-week moving average, 2022 analogy, bottom then chop) is one the rest of this database was making at the same time, with different results. A map of that cohort; dossier links connect them as the database grows.

Benjamin Cowen

The data-first version of Ivan's own argument: the 200-week moving average and a late-2026 cycle bottom. Cowen's dossier shows what the same thesis costs when it is held a few months too long.

The direct contrast at the same low. Rover was still calling a structural breakdown three days before 1 July; Ivan had already turned bullish on 15 June. Same chart, opposite timing.

Straight answers

Who is Ivan on Tech?+

Ivan Liljeqvist, a Swedish developer who studied computer science at KTH and started the Ivan on Tech YouTube channel in 2017 while working as a programmer at Ericsson. He co-founded the Web3 tooling company Moralis and the course platform Moralis Academy (formerly Ivan on Tech Academy), and now describes himself as Head Trader at Bullmania, where he sells a book, an indicator and a private community. He has roughly 494,000 followers on X.

Is Ivan on Tech's analysis reliable?+

On our 2026 sample: four dated calls, two played out, one still open, one went against. The best was 15 June, when he turned bullish and warned of a little more downside first — both happened, in that order. The worst was 11 February, when he told followers not to buy the bounce and Bitcoin rose 19% over the next three months. He is a commentator selling trading products, not a licensed adviser. Never trade his posts blindly.

What is Ivan on Tech's net worth?+

Not publicly verified. Aggregator sites publish specific figures without sourcing them, so we do not repeat any. His income visibly spans course sales, a venture-funded software company, YouTube and the Bullmania product line — but no accounts are public, and he does not disclose his trading positions.

What is Ivan on Tech's strategy?+

Cycle analogy over precise levels. He argues 2026 rhymes with 2022 — the 200-week moving average as the floor, then a bottom, then chop into Q4, then a 2027 bull run he calls “Valhalla” — and rotates across silver, AI equities and Bitcoin rather than staying crypto-only. He talks openly about stop-losses, but his public posts rarely state a target or an invalidation level.

Did Ivan on Tech call the 2025 top?+

He says so repeatedly — “We got the top exactly in October” — and it is the central claim of his 2026 marketing. We could not verify a dated, public October 2025 post making that call within the price window this dossier charts, so it is reported here as his claim, not as a scored call. What we can verify is what he posted from February 2026 onward, which is what the track record above measures.

How much do you trade like him?

Ivan trades the cycle, not the candle: historical analogy, the 200-week line, patience into 2027. How close is your instinct — measure it for real with a Trader Passport.
