~300K on X~925K on YouTubeBought BTC in 2011 at about $1

The man behind the most-cited entry call in Bitcoin's history — a 2013 YouTube video telling viewers to put $1 into BTC. He is not a swing trader and does not publish levels: he publishes conviction, on dated posts, and holds. That makes him easy to check and easy to misread, so this page does both.

Real name Davinci JeremieFocus Bitcoin onlyVentures YouTube · tSAT · Blueprint for BitcoinBase Dubai, UAE

In short. Davinci Jeremie is a Chile-born software architect who found Bitcoin in 2011 at roughly $1 and spent the next decade telling anyone who would listen to buy some. His 2013 “buy $1 of Bitcoin” video is one of crypto's founding artefacts. Today he runs a ~925K-subscriber YouTube channel and posts to ~300K on X, almost entirely about Bitcoin — he calls XRP a scam, dismisses most altcoins, and repeats a single long-horizon target: $500K. His dated 2026 posts cluster in drawdowns, which is where a permabull looks best; the moments he was quoted near the highs are the ones that hurt. Both are on this page.

Background — the $1 video, and the 13 years after it

Born in Chile on 15 September 1972, Jeremie moved to Canada at 18, took a computer-science degree from Simon Fraser University in 1998 and spent roughly 16 years as a software architect before quitting in 2013 to work on Bitcoin full time. He bought his first coins in 2011 at around a dollar. In May 2013, with BTC near $116, he posted the video that made him: a plain-spoken plea to buy $1 of Bitcoin and forget about it. It has since passed 7.1 million views, and Cointelegraph reported in January 2026 that his channel had grown past 926,000 subscribers across more than 2,600 videos.

The record is not all upside, and this page does not pretend otherwise. In 2020 his YouTube channel was permanently banned for guideline violations before he appealed and got it back. In July 2024 he became brand ambassador for the PEIPEI meme coin, told followers “If you don't buy PEIPEI, you are a fool”, held 2.1 trillion of the tokens and predicted a $1B market cap — PEIPEI now trades roughly 98% below its July 2024 peak. Critics also accuse him of moving prices through his own channel, which he denies. Read him as what he is: a one-asset conviction voice with a long, public, mixed paper trail — not a market timer.

Trading style & philosophy

Single-asset conviction, zero position management. Jeremie's method is not technical and barely tactical: buy Bitcoin, keep the keys, never sell, and treat every drawdown as a discount rather than a signal. He publishes almost no levels and no stops — the only number he repeats is a long-horizon $500K — so his posts are best read as sentiment markers rather than trades. The strength is that he has held that line through 2011, 2014, 2018 and 2022 and is on the record for it. The weakness is structural: a permabull is right whenever the chart is, so his hit rate says more about when he chooses to post than about calling turns. He has also lent that same conviction voice to a meme coin that went to near-zero.

About as bullish as a public record gets: he has never posted a Bitcoin exit, only accumulation. The single bearish post we could verify — 21 Apr 2026, calling for new lows — was a chart read, not a change of stance.

Track record — his calls, charted

Six dated posts from his own X account, each captured verbatim and charted against real price. Read the score with two things in mind. First, he is a permabull with no exit: he is right whenever Bitcoin eventually is, so these marks measure when he chose to speak, not whether he called turns — and his posts cluster in drawdowns. Second, and more important, there is a gap near the highs. On 13 May 2026, with BTC at $80,482, press reported him telling followers the sell-off was a shakeout and that panic sellers regret it; Bitcoin then fell 27.2% to $58,566. That statement survives only as press paraphrase, not as his own words, so it fails our verbatim gate and is not charted — but leaving it unmentioned would flatter what follows. His $500K target is a decade-scale claim and is not scoreable here at all.

A Mt. Gox-era memory posted into a falling market: BTC closed at $66,976 that day. It fell a further −12.6% to $58,566 before turning, then ran to $82,018 (+22.5%); it sits +16.4% above his post today. The direction played out — with a real drawdown first. The “500k” part is a decade-scale claim and is not scored.

His clearest contrarian marker of the year, posted at a sentiment extreme. Our daily-close series prints $65,891 for 28 Feb — he cites $63K, which our series does not close at that day. From there BTC dipped −11.1% to $58,566, then reached $82,018 (+24.5%), and is +18.3% today. Scored on direction, not on his intraday figure.

A chart-analogy post implying Bitcoin repeats Google's 2025 run. From $70,529 price went the other way first, −17.0% to $58,566, before recovering to $82,018 (+16.3%); it is +10.5% now. A 17% adverse move is not what the analogy implied, and the claim is too loose to call a hit — we log it open.

The only bearish post we could verify from him this window, and it worked. From $75,858 Bitcoin first went +8.1% against him to $82,018 on 11 May, then broke to $58,566 (−22.8%) on 1 Jul — genuinely below the pre-post low of $62,778 (6 Feb), so “new lows” is literally correct. Three weeks offside before it paid.

Posted into the June slide at $64,047. The remaining downside was shallow — −8.6% to $58,566 — before a run to $80,268 (+25.3%), leaving it +21.7% today. His stance is not a forecast so much as a refusal to sell, but on this date that refusal was the right side of the trade.

Outcomes are our read of his stated bias against real price, not his own scoring. Prices are CoinGecko daily closes and match the charts exactly. “Played out” requires a real move in the direction he stated; being eventually right after a deep adverse move is noted on the card, not hidden.

Straight answers

Who is Davinci Jeremie?+

A Chile-born software architect, now based in Dubai, who bought Bitcoin in 2011 at around $1 and posted a 2013 YouTube video urging viewers to buy $1 of it. That video — over 7 million views — made him one of crypto's best-known early advocates. He runs a ~925K-subscriber YouTube channel and posts as @Davincij15 on X.

Did he really call Bitcoin at $1?+

Yes, and it is well documented: he bought in 2011 and published the “$1 of Bitcoin” video in May 2013 with BTC near $116. It is also 13 years outside the price window this page can chart, so it is history, not part of the score — a single spectacular early call is not a track record.

What is Davinci Jeremie's Bitcoin prediction?+

He repeats a long-horizon target of $500,000, with no date attached beyond “this decade”. That is not scoreable inside a seven-month chart window, so this page ignores it and measures only his dated posts against what price actually did.

Is Davinci Jeremie's advice reliable?+

He is an educator and commentator, not a licensed adviser, and his record is genuinely mixed. His dated 2026 Bitcoin posts mostly landed. But in July 2024 he was brand ambassador for the PEIPEI meme coin and called non-buyers fools; it is now down roughly 98% from that period's peak. He is also a permabull with no exit, so he looks right whenever Bitcoin is. Never trade his posts blindly.

What is his strategy?+

Buy Bitcoin, self-custody it, never sell. He publishes almost no levels, no stops and no position sizing — only conviction and a decade-scale target. Everything else on his channel is monetary history, security practice and, at times, his own products.

How much do you trade like him?
