A 505,000-subscriber Bitcoin channel that publishes a market read almost every day — and puts the claim in the title, with a price level attached more often than most. That makes it unusually gradable. The record below is split down the middle: it marked the spring top almost to the day, then marked the August bottom almost to the day.
In short. DataDash was founded by Nicholas Merten and has been publishing crypto market analysis since 2017 — 505K subscribers on YouTube, roughly 106,000 followers on X, and uploads most days of the week. The lane is Bitcoin price structure, key levels and macro, delivered as a headline you can check: “$75K Is the Next Line in the Sand”, “$93K Is Still Coming”, “$88K Next?”. Across the last seven months the channel held a structurally bullish stance and was punished for it in May and rewarded for it in August: it published “the most bullish weekly candle of 2026” on the exact day Bitcoin topped at $82,018, then a breakout call on 20 August at $69,291 — the lowest price Bitcoin has traded since.
Nicholas Merten founded DataDash and, on the channel's own membership site, is described as “the founder of DataDash, one of the largest cryptocurrency YouTube channels with over 500,000 subscribers” — a “recognized thought-leader and crypto analyst” with “over ten years of experience in traditional markets.” The X account the channel links to, @datadashpro, is verified, dates to August 2017 and carries 105,732 followers. The YouTube channel describes itself, in its own words, as “Bitcoin and crypto market analysis for serious traders and investors.”
He has built more than a channel, and not all of it worked. In 2020 he launched Digifox, a consumer crypto finance app; CoinMarketCap's own profile still lists him as “Founder and CEO of Digifox.” The product no longer exists — digifox.com does not resolve (checked 22 September 2026). That is the kind of thing a highlight reel leaves out, and it belongs on a page that grades him.
One thing this page cannot verify, and says so rather than papering over it: DataDash is no longer a single person. The membership site lists a second named analyst, Paul Sampson — “the latest analyst to join Data Dash” — alongside Merten, and the channel does not publicly attribute individual uploads to one or the other. The uploads themselves carry no byline. So every card below grades the claim DataDash published, on a date, under its own name. That is the honest unit of account here.
The brand is also being impersonated, and the channel says so itself. Its public description carries the warning: “instagram.com/datadashcrypto is NOT affiliated with DataDash. We have no Instagram presence. Do not send money or personal information to anyone claiming to represent us on Instagram.”

Levels first, direction loud, hedge in the question mark. Most uploads name a number — a line in the sand, a target, a case that “just got stronger” — which is why this record is gradable at all. The weakness is that a thesis, once published, gets repeated rather than re-tested: the $93K case ran across 14 May and 18 May, and a $100K version appeared again on 25 May, while Bitcoin was already rolling over from $82,018 toward $58,566. The counterweight is that the channel does grade itself out loud — on 4 June 2026, with Bitcoin at $64,047, it published “I publicly targeted $93k... Bitcoin crashed... was I wrong?” Very few channels post that video.
Structurally bullish on Bitcoin for the whole window. The stance is the same in May at $82,018 and in August at $69,291 — which is exactly why it produced both the worst call on this page and the best one.
Eight dated calls from the channel's own uploads, charted against real CoinGecko price. A note on method, because it matters: YouTube's player and description endpoints are login-gated for this server and there are no public transcripts for this channel, so the only part of an upload that can be verified verbatim is its title. That is not a limitation worth hiding — the titles are the calls, published on a verified channel with a date attached and a number in them more often than not. Each quote was re-fetched live from YouTube's oEmbed endpoint (which returns the canonical title and the channel name), dated from the watch page, and then re-confirmed a second time through an independent fetcher. Where a title opens with an alert emoji, it is trimmed on the card and kept in full in the corpus; nothing else is altered. What was said inside the video is not captured, so any nuance added on camera is not graded.
“Bitcoin Just CONFIRMED the Bullish Setup... What Comes Next?”
Confirmation came late. From $80,329 Bitcoin went the wrong way first — −5.9% to $75,590 on 16 Sep, nine days of the setup not working — and only then delivered, running to $86,518, +7.7% above the call. Graded played out, with the drawdown stated: anyone who took the word “confirmed” literally sat underwater for a week and a half.

Direction right, number not reached — so it stays open. From $79,018 Bitcoin is $86,518, +9.5%, and its highest print since is $86,597 — still 1.6% short of $88,000. The path was not clean either: it first gave back 4.3% to $75,590 on 16 Sep. Logged still open rather than banked, because the target in the title is a target.

The best piece of timing on this page. $69,291 on the day it was published is the lowest price Bitcoin has traded since — not one print below it in a month — and the breakout was real: $86,597 at the high, +25.0%, and $86,518 now, +24.9%. Three months earlier the same structurally bullish stance produced the worst call here. This is the other side of it.

A relative call, and it worked on both legs. Ether was $1,917 and is $2,753, +43.7%; Bitcoin over the identical span went +33.7%. The ratio the title points at moved from 0.02962 to 0.03183, +7.5% in Ether's favour. The worst it got first was −4.0%, to $1,841 on 18 Jul. Rotation called, rotation delivered.

It was not still coming. From $77,429 Bitcoin fell 24.4% to $58,566 on 1 Jul, and four months on the highest it has printed is $86,597 — 6.9% below the $93,000 in the title. Bitcoin is $86,518 today, +11.7% above the call, so the direction eventually paid; the number never did, and the drawdown in between was the whole story.

Nobody believed it, and nobody should have. $82,018 on the day of this upload is the highest price Bitcoin traded between 25 February and 19 August — the top of the spring, to the day. It then lost 28.6% over the next 51 days, to $58,566 on 1 Jul, and did not trade above $82,018 again for 134 days — it only cleared that level on 22 September. Bitcoin is $86,518 now, +5.5%, four and a half months later.

The setup ran the other way. From $73,841 Bitcoin dropped 20.7% to $58,566 on 1 Jul before recovering, and five months later its best print is $86,597 — 13.4% below the $100,000 in the title, which has not been touched since. It is $86,518 today, +17.2% above the call: up, but nowhere near the number that was published.

A stated level, hit fast. Bitcoin was $68,672; it crossed $75,000 ten days later — $75,112 on 17 Apr, +9.4% — and ran to $82,018 by 11 May, +19.4%. Graded played out on the claim as written, with the sequel stated: the same run then unwound to $58,566 on 1 Jul, 14.7% below the call. It is $86,518 now, +26.0%.
“Bitcoin Is Breaking Out | $75K Is the Next Line in the Sand” — DataDash (its own upload, 7 Apr 2026)▶ Watch the call · youtu.be/9xYy4BhjXfIOutcomes are our read of the direction published, measured against real CoinGecko price — not the channel's own scoring. Because only the title is publicly verifiable, these cards grade the headline claim and nothing else: an upload may have been far more hedged than its thumbnail. DataDash carries two named analysts and does not attribute uploads individually, so each card is credited to the channel, not to a person. Near-term marks can flip as the cycle resolves.
A free daily channel that feeds a paid membership, plus the usual sponsor economics — and one venture that did not survive.
505K subscribers and uploads most days: ad revenue, sponsor segments and paid placements are the base business. Partner interviews run on the same feed — for example the 24 February 2026 episode with CoinDepo, published as a guest conversation rather than a market call.
The membership sells at $99/month against a $149 list price (datadashpro.com, 22 Sep 2026) and bundles a member platform, an education library, monthly strategy webinars, a private community and “Nicholas's monthly outlook on high-potential assets, macro trends, and global markets.” The free uploads are the funnel; the levels behind the paywall are not gradable from outside, and are not graded here.
The paid product is sold as “Nicholas's macro research and Paul's cross-market intelligence” in one membership. That is disclosed on the site — but it also means a DataDash call is a brand call. Neither the uploads nor the X account carry a per-analyst byline, and neither carries a holdings disclosure, so assume nothing is disclosed.
Merten founded and ran Digifox, a consumer crypto finance app launched in 2020. It is gone: digifox.com no longer resolves (checked 22 Sep 2026). Anyone weighing the channel's judgement should weigh that too.

The channel uploads most days. A few dated and verified ones that are not charted — because the title makes no checkable claim, repeats a call already on the record, or falls outside the 210-day price window:

Merten also founded Digifox, a consumer crypto finance app launched in 2020 that no longer operates.
Merten founded the channel and is its public face, but DataDash is no longer a one-person brand: the membership site lists a second analyst, Paul Sampson, and individual uploads carry no byline. This dossier therefore credits every call to DataDash the channel rather than to a named individual.
Of eight dated 2026 calls charted here, four played out, one is still open and three went clearly against — including a “most bullish weekly candle of 2026” upload published on 11 May at $82,018, the exact high of the spring, and $100K and $93K targets that were never reached. The other side of the same bullish stance was a 20 August breakout call at $69,291, the lowest price Bitcoin has traded since.
It is commentary from a media business with a paid tier, not licensed advice, and the record above is genuinely split. The channel does state numbers, which makes it checkable — but it also repeated a broken $93K thesis across three uploads while Bitcoin was falling. Treat any of it as a dated opinion, never as a signal.
Bitcoin price structure and key levels, framed by macro — rates, liquidity and equities — and published as a headline with a number in it. Entries, stops and invalidation levels are generally not stated publicly, so the calls are directional claims about a level rather than trades.
DataDash trades levels inside a macro frame, and says the number out loud. How close is that to your instinct — measure it for real with a Trader Passport.
