@CryptoCrewU
A 408,000-subscriber Bitcoin chart channel that spent the spring and early summer of 2026 bearish — and said so in public, three times, with a chart attached. Only three of its in-window posts commit to a direction clearly enough to grade, and the record they make is one right, one early, one wrong.
In short. Crypto Crew University is a trading-education brand founded by Steve Courtney, who on the brand's own site says he began trading in 2002. It publishes weekly on YouTube (408K subscribers, channel opened May 2017) and on X as @CryptoCrewU (about 87,000 followers), and sells courses, custom indicators and a membership. The lane is Bitcoin cycle comparison — moving averages, crosses, bear flags, “history is repeating”. The motto is “We don’t predict, we prepare”, and most headlines keep to it: of the 39 uploads since our price window opened, six name Bitcoin and only one says which way it is going. The calls that do commit were bearish: a crash call on 1 April that came three months late, a bottom line near $44,145 that was never reached, and a bear-flag warning on 30 May that was followed by a 20.3% drop.
The brand's About page introduces Steve Courtney as “Founder & CEO of CCU” and says he “started trading in 2002, when he was just 16 years old”, moving from stocks into crypto and condensing “20 + years of trading experience” into courses. The same page's headline — “From welfare to minting Millionaires” — is marketing copy; we could not verify the student outcomes it implies, and nothing on this page relies on it.
The YouTube channel @CryptoCrewUniversity opened on 29 May 2017 and lists the United States as its country. The X account @CryptoCrewU dates to May 2012, carries a paid blue check, and describes itself as “20+ Years | #Bitcoin TA | I Help YOU Win More”. Our registry previously listed the brand under @CrewCrypto; that was wrong — the channel and the website link to @CryptoCrewU, and this page uses it.
A note on who is speaking. Courtney is the brand's founder and public face, and many titles are written in the first person (“Here’s exactly what I’m doing”). But the membership pages also refer to “Steve and other professors” and “Steve and our team of seasoned experts”, and the posts carry no individual byline. So every card below grades what Crypto Crew University published, under its own name, on a date — the honest unit of account here.
The brand's calls were being publicly challenged before our window opened. On 18 February 2026 the YouTube channel Wolves of Crypto published “MARCH BOTTOM: Crypto Crew University's Bizarre Bitcoin Call (DEBUNKED)” — a rival analyst's critique, not a neutral source, and dated a week before our price data starts, so it is noted here and not scored.

Cycle rhymes, framed as warnings, hedged as questions. Nearly every upload is a headline like “WARNING: IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN” or “HISTORY IS REPEATING” — urgent, but with no asset, level or direction in it, which is why so little of this feed can be graded. When the brand does commit, it reads Bitcoin off long-timeframe moving averages and past-cycle analogues: how far price fell below the 50-month average in earlier bear markets, or how the 2022 bear flags broke. The house motto, “We don’t predict, we prepare”, sits next to posts that plainly do predict — the April chart draws a “30% under” line at $44,145.
Bearish through spring and early summer 2026 — a crash call in April and a bear-flag warning in late May — then quieter and more two-sided from August, when titles turned to golden crosses and “hidden pump or death signal”.
Three dated calls from the brand's own posts — two on X, one YouTube upload — charted against real CoinGecko price. A note on method: the X posts are quoted in full as published and were re-fetched live; for the YouTube upload, the player and description endpoints are login-gated for this server, so the only part that can be verified verbatim is its title, and that is what is graded. We looked at every upload since the price window opened on 26 February; almost all of them are warnings with no asset or direction in the title, and those are listed in the library below rather than scored.
“#Bitcoin's current bear flag looks almost identical to the 2022 bear flags... Except for ONE major difference. 👀 The trend angle is far steeper this time. Historically, when volatility increases inside a bear flag, the eventual move can be dramatic.”
The best-timed post on this page. Bitcoin was $73,501; it never traded more than 0.4% higher — $73,820 the next day — and then broke down, to $60,960 within a week (−17.1%) and $58,566 on 1 Jul, −20.3% in 32 days. The post ends on a question, but a bear flag is a bearish pattern and the attached chart draws it as the “2026 2nd Bear Flag” after two that broke lower in 2022. Graded played out. Bitcoin is $84,235 today, +14.6% above the call.

The level is on the post's own chart: a monthly Bitcoin chart with past bottoms marked “30% under” and “40% under” the 50-month average, and a line labelled “30% under” at $44,145 for this cycle. Bitcoin was $67,960. It went the other way first — up 20.7% to $82,018 on 11 May — and the lowest it has printed since is $58,566 on 1 Jul, still 32.7% above that line. It is $84,235 today, +23.9% above the post. The direction eventually dipped; the bottom it pointed to never came.
𝕏 Post“🚨#BTC MONTHLY OUTLOOK! BTC lost the 50 MA” — @CryptoCrewU on X↗ x.com“BITCOIN IS ABOUT TO CRASH... HERE’S EXACTLY WHAT I’M DOING”
“About to” is the problem. From $68,107 Bitcoin did not crash — it rallied 20.4% over 40 days, to $82,018 on 11 May. Only then did it fall, reaching $58,566 on 1 Jul: 14.0% below the call, 91 days after it. Anyone who acted on the title was 20% offside before being right. Graded timing missed — the direction eventually came, the “about to” did not. Bitcoin is $84,235 today, +23.7% above the call.
“BITCOIN IS ABOUT TO CRASH... HERE’S EXACTLY WHAT I’M DOING” — Crypto Crew University (its own upload, 1 Apr 2026)▶ Watch the call · youtu.be/d0TWnKnVzu0Outcomes are our read of the direction published, measured against real CoinGecko price — not the brand's own scoring. The “$1,000 in” line under each chart is a buy-and-hold figure from the day of the call; all three calls here were bearish, so a rising number means the market went against the post. Each card is credited to Crypto Crew University rather than to one person, because the brand does not attribute posts individually.
A free YouTube channel and email list that feed paid courses, custom indicators and a membership — the classic trading-education funnel.
The homepage leads with “The Bitcoin Bottom Blueprint” — “a step-by-step framework to help you identify market bottoms”, with “3 custom indicators for bottom detection” — listed at a “value” of $10,000 alongside an Exit Plan, a Course Bundle, an Indicator Bundle for TradingView and a free four-year membership (cryptocrewuniversity.com, 23 Sep 2026). A bottom-finding product is worth holding up against the April post on this page, whose bottom line has not been reached. The public calls are the shop window for the same methods — a built-in reason to make them sound decisive.
The membership bundles mini-courses, live Q&A with “Steve and other professors”, forum alerts and “Steve's Detailed Market Reports” — private weekly updates with “behind-the-scenes things not shown or discussed on Twitter or YouTube”. The sales page lists the parts by “value” — $7,999 for the courses alone (cryptocrewuniversity.com, 23 Sep 2026). Whatever is called behind the paywall is not gradable from outside, and is not graded here.
Posts on X routinely end with “Students, full Market Report’s in your inbox. Join free here” and a link to the email list. The public posts are the free tier of a paid product; neither the channel nor the X account carries a holdings disclosure, so assume nothing is disclosed.

The channel uploads a little more than once a week. A few dated and verified ones that are not charted — because the title names no asset or direction, repeats a call already on the record, or falls outside the 210-day price window:
BREAKING: BITCOIN GOLDEN CROSS QUICKLY APPROACHESPosted with Bitcoin at $75,590 — the lowest close of September so far. It describes an indicator rather than calling a direction, so it is not scored; for the record, Bitcoin is higher since.16 Sep 2026
WARNING: WATCH THIS B4 2027 (BLOODBATH)Posted with Bitcoin at $79,018. Bearish in tone, but the title names no asset and no level, and the horizon is 2027 — outside anything our window can grade.27 Aug 2026

BREAKING: BEAR FLAG BREAKOUT (Secret Clue)Posted with Bitcoin at $80,914. “Breakout” from a bear flag could be read either way, and the title does not say which — so it is not scored.06 May 2026
WARNING: ANOTHER MEGA CRASH COMINGA clearly bearish headline — but it lands eight days before our price window opens on 26 February, so it cannot be charted.18 Feb 2026A crypto trading-education brand founded by Steve Courtney, who says he began trading in 2002. It publishes Bitcoin technical analysis on YouTube, where it has about 408,000 subscribers, and on X as @CryptoCrewU, with about 87,000 followers, and sells courses, custom indicators and a membership called the Financial Freedom Academy.
Courtney founded the brand and is its public face, but its membership pages also refer to “other professors” and a team of experts, and posts carry no individual byline. This dossier therefore credits every call to Crypto Crew University rather than to a named individual.
Only three posts inside our price window commit to a direction clearly enough to grade, and all three were bearish on Bitcoin. A 30 May bear-flag warning at $73,501 was followed by a 20.3% drop. A 1 April “about to crash” call at $68,107 came three months late, after a 20.4% rally. And a 2 April chart pointing to a bottom near $44,145 has not been reached — the low since was $58,566.
It is marketing for a paid education business, not licensed advice. Most of its headlines are warnings with no asset, level or direction, so the brand is harder to hold to account than it sounds. When it did commit in 2026, it was right once, early once and wrong once. Treat any of it as a dated opinion, never a signal.
