@ByzGeneral
Order-flow trader who reads open interest, liquidations and the order books, and names the Bitcoin levels where liquidity sits. The calls into the June low worked: the drop from $79,069 in May and the sweep to 58k in late June. The big upside targets did not: $100,000 on Bitcoin in September and $3,000 on Ether.
In short. Byzantine General is a crypto trader on X, @ByzGeneral, with about 243,000 followers. On eleven dated calls from May to October 2026 that name a Bitcoin or Ether price level, the record is 6 played out, 1 open, 4 went against. The level calls on the way down to the June and July low mostly worked. The misses were two bounce levels in early June and the two big upside targets of September.
Byzantine General does not publish a real name. The X account has been open since February 2019 and its bio reads “Cartoon tiger pressing buttons.” It names three business ties: partner of the exchange Bybit, partner of the trading app Liquid, and adviser to the data firm Velo. Since 30 August 2026 the account also writes a free weekly newsletter on Substack. We found no public track record kept by the trader.
How the sample was built: the X profile feed returned 792 of the account's own posts from 1 April to 8 November 2026, which covers the whole price window. We chart every post in the window that names a Bitcoin or Ether price level as a target, a bounce point or a sweep, each at its first post. Many posts carry a chart. We grade the words of the post, not the drawing.
Direction calls without a level are not charted, but here is how they went. On 1 May the trader was fading a Bitcoin pump at $76,297; Bitcoin rose to $82,018 on 11 May. On 6 June, near $60,960, the post said “it's reasonable to assume that the big puke is over”; the low came on 1 July at $58,566, 3.9% lower. On 19 June Ether looked “terrible”; it fell from $1,710 to $1,566 on 26 June. On 12 August Bitcoin “still looks weak” at $63,538; it rose to $78,318 on 22 August without a new low first. On 25 August the trader expected chop and then “another push higher”; Bitcoin reached $86,597 on 22 September. On 1 November the post said “Call me crazy, but I'm bullish”, at $77,521. Calls on Ether against Bitcoin, and if-then posts such as “As long as 60k is holding”, are not charted either.
The account trades both ways. In May the trader had a bearish bias, and on 29 September wrote of being “early into the bull market”. The September calls for $100,000 and $3,000 on Ether are the largest misses in the sample.

Order flow and liquidity. The trader reads open interest, funding, liquidations and the bids and offers in the spot order books, and looks for where stops and liquidations sit. A typical post names that level and expects price to sweep it before turning. Charts are mostly price with open interest and liquidation data below. The account trades both ways and often says which side it is on.
Two-way. In our sample the trader was bearish from mid-May to early June, called a bottom in late June and July, expected 100,000 in September, and was bullish again on 1 November after the drop that followed the Binance hack.
Eleven dated calls from Byzantine General's own X posts, ten on Bitcoin and one on Ether, charted against real price. The tally is 6 played out, 1 open, 4 went against.
“This is shaping up to be a text book $BTC liquidity hunt. Rising open interest in this bleed towards the local range low. Long liquidations are ramping up so it's clear that the liquidity is there. A sweep of 74k is probably the climax.”

𝕏 Post“$ETH is going to $3k next” — Byzantine General on X↗ x.com“$BTC can't seem to push above $65k, but there's clearly a lot of demand around $60k so any attempt to push us below that level will be short lived IMO.”
Said at $63,031. The lowest daily mark after the post was $62,844 (−0.3%) the next day. Bitcoin never went below 60,000 again, and rose to $69,291 (+9.9%) on 20 August and $86,597 (+37.4%) on 22 September. It is at $75,797 (+20.3%). Played out.
𝕏 Post“any attempt to push us below that level will be short lived” — Byzantine General on X↗ x.com“After the bottom side liquidity got taken, $BTC printed a successful bull div while breaking the downward trendline. By all means this should be a moment for BTC to shine. Monday we should see follow through for this div to really play out and if we do we're looking at 80k.”
Said at $63,088 on a Sunday. Monday's follow-through was small: $63,586, then a dip to $62,247 (−1.3%) on 9 July. Bitcoin reached $80,268 (+27.2%) on 28 August, more than seven weeks later. It is at $75,797 (+20.1%). Played out, slowly.
𝕏 Post“if we do we're looking at 80k” — Byzantine General on X↗ x.com“However, we also have a perfect equal low now that's a prime target for hunting. Trading no man's land IMO. It would be ideal if we got a serious sweep to 58k.”

Said at $71,320. Bitcoin went through 65,000 to $64,047 (−10.2%) on 4 June and kept falling, to $60,960 (−14.5%) on 6 June. There was no bounce at 65,000 on our daily marks. It is at $75,797 (+6.3%). Went against.
𝕏 Post“I'm looking at $65k for a strong bounce (hopefully).” — Byzantine General on X↗ x.com“I expect a bounce at 70k, but I plan on holding this until 65k.”
Said at $73,599. Bitcoin fell to $71,320 (−3.1%) the next day and through 70,000 without a bounce, to $64,047 (−13.0%) on 4 June. The post does not say what position was held to 65,000, so we grade the bounce call. It is at $75,797 (+3.0%). Went against.
𝕏 Post“I expect a bounce at 70k” — Byzantine General on X↗ x.com“$BTC clearly broke its uptrend. I have a bearish bias now. I think that any pump back towards those local highs is a comfortable short. 74k could be support. We'll see, worst case we go to the high 60s.”
Said at $79,069. Bitcoin did not pump back to the local highs. It fell to $73,501 (−7.0%) on 30 May and to $58,566 (−25.9%) on 1 July, well below the “worst case” of the high 60s. It is at $75,797 (−4.1%). The bearish call played out; the floor was set too high.

𝕏 Post“Could see a small retrace to 78k or 77k.” — Byzantine General on X↗ x.comOutcomes are our read of the stated claim against real price, not the trader's own scoring. Selection: from 792 of the account's own posts between 1 April and 8 November 2026, we chart every post that names a Bitcoin or Ether price level as a target, a bounce point or a sweep, at its first post. Posts that only note where bids sit, if-then posts and calls on Ether against Bitcoin are not charted. Direction calls without a level are listed in the background with their outcome. Our price data is daily, so the price for each call is the daily mark for the post's date, and moves within a day are not seen. The $1,000 line on each card assumes buying, so for a bearish call it shows the loss a buyer would have had.
