@BobLoukas
The man who put the phrase “Bitcoin 4-Year Cycle” on YouTube in December 2018 — and who runs a public model portfolio against it. Loukas doesn't trade headlines; he trades where you are in the cycle, dates every update, and publishes the buys. Which makes the record unusually easy to check, including the stretch in early 2026 when the cycle said down and price said otherwise.
In short. Bob Loukas is a position trader with 30+ years in markets, founder of the membership site The Financial Tap, and the analyst most associated with Bitcoin's four-year cycle — a framework he traces to the cycle work of Walter Bressert and has applied to Bitcoin since 2018. His crypto analysis runs through a “4 Year Journey” model portfolio whose trades he posts publicly. The seven dated 2026 calls charted below split cleanly in two: his bearish first half was badly timed — a sub-$50,000 scenario that never came, and a “readying for another big leg lower” post published on the exact day of Bitcoin's March low — and then he caught the turn, calling the end of the counter-trend rally six days before the $82,018 top, buying 10 BTC at $65,000 in June, and telling followers Bitcoin “isn't dead” at $60,990, since when it has run +29.8%. His cycle-low window of October–November 2026 has not arrived, and is logged open.
Bob Loukas is a position trader and the founder of The Financial Tap, a membership site he describes not as a trading service but as “ongoing investment education.” His own about page is precise about the shape of the operation: 30+ years of market experience, 52 weekly video updates a year, a model portfolio for members, and a base in New York City. His method comes from a named lineage — he credits “the pioneering work of Walter Bressert,” the cycles analyst — and he defines it as the study of recurring, measurable patterns in price and time rather than price alone. His stated philosophy is deliberately unglamorous: “I'm a realist. There's no holy grail of trading.”
His crypto work is separate from the equities/macro membership: he publishes Bitcoin analysis exclusively on Bitcoin Live, a third-party platform, under the banner 4 Year Journey — a public model portfolio run against the four-year cycle. He also posts free video updates to a YouTube channel of roughly 150,000 subscribers, at a pace of perhaps six a year, each with a dated title (“It's Not Different This Time,” “Not Done Yet,” “ThE fOur YeAr cyCle iS dEAd”). By his own account the first ever YouTube video about Bitcoin's 4-Year Cycle was his, in December 2018. That combination — infrequent, dated, and tied to a published portfolio — is what makes his record checkable.
One miss belongs on the record before you read the chart, because it sits just outside the window charted here and so cannot be scored. In June 2025, with Bitcoin near $110,000, Loukas floated a “double cycle blowoff” — two adjacent four-year peaks fusing into one — and said that “if we've still got sort of a six to seven month expansion to a peak… that would lead us into maybe even a February or March peak,” with a doubling toward $150,000–$170,000. Bitcoin instead topped near $126,000 in October 2025 and was already in decline by February 2026. He was explicit that these were probabilistic scenarios rather than firm calls — but the extension scenario he floated did not happen, and he was later the one to say so on camera.

Cycles over noise, on a long clock. Loukas maps Bitcoin as a four-year cycle measured in weeks of the cycle, nested inside shorter daily and weekly cycles, with a strong prior that cycles resolve the way they always have: a retest, a lower low, then a bottom inside a timing band. He works from the 10-week and 10-month moving averages, cycle-midpoint levels (the $53,000 figure on this page is the midpoint of the whole four-year cycle), and sentiment extremes. He is a position trader — the model portfolio's June 2026 buy was its first in three and a half years — so his edge is allocation and patience, not entries. The weakness is visible in the calls below: a framework that says “there is always a lower low” makes you structurally early at the bottom, and structurally reluctant to admit a low is in.
Structurally bullish on Bitcoin across the cycle — he was buying, not selling, into the 2026 lows — but explicitly bearish on the broader altcoin market, and expects real price discovery only in 2028.
Seven dated calls from 26 February to 25 June 2026, each charted against real price. Five are his own X posts, captured verbatim from X's syndication endpoint; two come from press reports of his dated video updates and were substring-matched against the live articles. He is a cycle analyst, so the calls are structural (“another big leg lower,” “the end of a counter trend move,” “$53,000 is the midpoint”) rather than tight entries — we judged them on what price actually did next. The arc is unusually clean and it is not flattering in order, so the three misses come first: he spent February to April bearish and early, then called the May top almost to the day and bought the June lows. His October–November cycle-low window has not arrived and is logged open.
“If Bitcoin sees no counter-trend relief rally, and instead continues the downtrend to sub $50k (into March/April), the possibility this type of action induces an early 4 Year Cycle low is real.”
Posted at $67,850, floating a slide below $50,000 during March or April. It was framed as a possibility, not a target — but the path did not open. March and April never traded below $65,824, and even the eventual cycle low four months later only reached $58,566 (−13.7%). Price went the other way instead: +20.9% to $82,018, and Bitcoin is +16.6% from this post.
𝕏 Post“…continues the downtrend to sub $50k” — @BobLoukas, 26 Feb 2026↗ x.com“As deeply oversold as Bitcoin is, this weekly chart remains horrendous and from a purely visual perspective, feels like it's hanging on by a thread and readying for another big leg lower.”
The worst-timed post on the page. U.Today reported the chart's target as roughly $49,000. He published it at $65,824 — which turned out to be the lowest price of March and April. Bitcoin rallied +13.5% to $74,679 within a fortnight. A leg lower did eventually arrive, but not until July and only to $58,566 (−11.0%); $49,000 was never approached, and BTC is now +20.2%.
𝕏 Post“this weekly chart remains horrendous” — @BobLoukas, 2 Mar 2026↗ x.com“Bitcoin dominance bottomed out for the Cycle above 50%, without Bitcoin doing anything extraordinary, highlights the broader promise of Crypto has mostly failed.”
A call that Bitcoin's share of the market had bottomed — i.e. altcoins would keep losing ground. This hub can't chart the dominance index, so we score it on Solana as the tradeable alt proxy, and on that measure it went against him: SOL is +20.6% since ($86 → $104, after a −27.7% dip to $62 and a high of $109), while Bitcoin over the identical span managed only +3.7%. Alts outperformed by roughly seventeen points.
𝕏 Post“Bitcoin dominance bottomed out for the Cycle above 50%” — @BobLoukas, 22 Apr 2026↗ x.com“At the $53,000 level, we're tagging the midpoint of the entire four-year cycle.”
From his 4 June video, published at $64,047: the cycle midpoint at $53,000 is where the model portfolio's remaining cash goes to reach a 100% allocation. His structural claim on the same call — “there's generally always a lower low” — did deliver: Bitcoin fell −8.6% to $58,566 on 1 July. But $53,000 never printed, price then ran +26.9% to $81,265, and BTC sits +23.6% higher. His base case puts the cycle low in October or November 2026, so this is open by construction.
SourceVeteran Analyst Eyes $53,000 Bitcoin As Final Cycle Stage Begins — NewsBTC↗ newsbtc.com“Bitcoin - Getting close now to the end of a natural counter trend move in a bear market. $85-$88k area.”
His best call, and the one that redeems the three above. At $79,826 he said the rally was a counter-trend bounce that was nearly finished. Bitcoin topped six days later at $82,018 (+2.7%) — the highest price in this entire chart window — and then fell −26.6% to $58,566. The $85–$88k zone he named was about 3.6% too high, so the level missed; the turn did not. Four months on BTC is −0.9% from the post.

Not an opinion — a posted trade, and the model portfolio's first purchase since late 2022, taking it to roughly a 60% Bitcoin allocation. He was early, as his framework tends to make him: price fell another −12.2% to $58,566 before turning. But it turned. Bitcoin ran +21.8% to $81,265 and sits +18.6% above the day he bought. Judged as what it is — a cycle allocation, not an entry — it worked.
𝕏 Post“Picking up 10BTC at $65,000” — @BobLoukas, 3 Jun 2026↗ x.com“All the Bitcoin and Crypto FUD flooding the timeline is perfectly normal at this stage of a bear market. Bitcoin isn't dead. Crypto isn't dead either.”
Posted into peak capitulation at $60,990, six days before the cycle low. The drawdown after it was just −4.0% — the smallest of any call here — before Bitcoin ran +33.2% to $81,265. It is +29.8% today. One honest caveat: U.Today reported alongside this that he expected 3–5 months of sideways trade before a new cycle began in autumn; that part has not held, because price did not go sideways, it went up.

The 22 April call is about Bitcoin dominance, which this hub cannot chart directly; we scored it against Solana as the tradeable altcoin proxy and say so on the card. His June 2025 “double cycle blowoff” miss pre-dates this window and is disclosed in the biography rather than scored here.
Two paid products, both subscriptions, neither of them a signals group. What's notable is the separation: the equities/macro membership is his own site, while all the Bitcoin work — including the model portfolio quoted on this page — lives on a third-party platform he doesn't own.
His own site: a weekly video update (52 a year), model portfolio and written reports behind a paid membership. He frames it explicitly as investment education rather than a trading service.
He states he publishes his Bitcoin and crypto analysis exclusively on Bitcoin Live, where the 4 Year Journey model portfolio lives. Subscription revenue there is split with a platform he doesn't control — worth knowing when a call is also a shop window.
The dated video updates are free and infrequent — roughly six a year. They're the public face of two paid products, so read them as the argument, not the whole book. No token, course or exchange referral appeared in the public record we reviewed.

Loukas posts to YouTube rarely — roughly six times a year — and dates every video, which is what makes them usable as a record. These are his in-window updates; the 4 June video is the one the $53,000 call on this page comes from. Note that no transcript could be verified on this server, so nothing in the videos is scored as a call — only the press quotes of them, and his own posts.

A timing framework, inherited from the cycles analyst Walter Bressert, that maps Bitcoin as a roughly four-year cycle measured in weeks, with shorter daily and weekly cycles nested inside it. It carries a strong prior that a cycle ends with a retest and at least one lower low inside a timing band — which in 2026 he placed around October or November.

He is a commentator, not a licensed adviser, and the 2026 record here is genuinely split: three misses in the first half of the year — including a bearish post published on the exact low of March and April — against a top call six days early, a posted buy at $65,000 that is now +18.6%, and a contrarian bottom read that is +29.8%. His June 2025 call for a February–March 2026 cycle peak also missed. Treat it as a documented, dated opinion — never trade it blindly.
Three places: free dated video updates on YouTube (~150K subscribers, roughly six a year), his own paid membership site The Financial Tap for equities and macro, and Bitcoin Live — where he says his Bitcoin and crypto analysis appears exclusively, including the 4 Year Journey model portfolio.
