Tony Edward of Thinking Crypto would have one believe the case for Bitcoin is still a bullish one, in spite of some weakness on the daily chart of late. The host says that if one looks at the higher timeframes, the bulls are in the ascendant.

Bitcoin was in the vicinity of $80,000 when this was recorded. Edward observes that momentum has waned and there is short-term hesitation to be seen, even as the daily MACD nears a bullish turn. He attributes some of that to the S&P 500 and Nasdaq; their softness has an effect on crypto given the strong correlation between them.

Then again, the weekly MACD has yet to lose its bullish stance and the RSI is neutral, not to mention the bullish divergence in evidence. For his part, Edward counsels patience. “Even in a bull market you will see 20 to 30 percent pullbacks,” he says by way of reminder. There are regulatory matters to consider as well for long-term growth in the sector: the SEC has made tokenization a priority in its 2027 infrastructure reviews and Latvia’s economic minister is anticipating new rules on the matter in the coming year.

CryptoWendyO: bitcoin hovers at $80,000 support amid market uncertainty

This call: BTC ▼ down — being checked by price until Nov 25

CryptoWendyO sees Bitcoin hovering at the $80,000 support and says it is a sign of unease in the crypto market at large. The host points to the fact that base coins are holding their own for the most part even as altcoins make their way down.

In what amounts to sideways action around $80,000 for Bitcoin, CryptoWendyO has noticed a corresponding drop in altcoins, with base coins being the exception. Should BTC give way and fall to $76,000, the expert cautions, expect to see much heavier losses among the alts. Then there is the matter of Elon Musk’s recent remarks on curbing stock market financing for companies lacking solid revenue; these are put forward as something that could stir up trouble in the markets.

One does not have to look far for other risks, with the cyberattack on the Japanese markets being a case in point, so traders are well advised to be circumspect. Yet for all the uncertainty, there are some AI plays like Venice, Near, Pyth, Quantum Compute, and Injective that are doing well, in CryptoWendyO’s view. As for Bitcoin, the daily chart tells a story of a downtrend, having made its way to $78,000 to satisfy the short sellers.

Benjamin Cowen: bears take control as BTC falls below $83,000 support

Benjamin Cowen, the channel host, is of the opinion that with Bitcoin’s price falling below important levels, the bears are once again in the ascendant. In fact, Cowen cautions that should the bulls be unable to reclaim what they have lost, the latest price action may be a precursor to further downside.

At present, Bitcoin is in the vicinity of $80,000. Cowen asserts that two consecutive weekly closes below $83,000 would confirm the bears’ hold on the market. The asset has also given back its gains from the May 2023 high and is now below it, which in his view heightens the prospect of a sustained drop.

As for support, the analyst puts the range between $72,000 and $76,000. Yet he is quick to add that a drop to $60,000 before any recovery could signal trouble ahead. There is also the matter of post-midterm election pullbacks; historically, Bitcoin has been prone to them and Cowen does not rule out a repeat this year. He makes it clear that without a move above $83,000, one can expect further downside, especially if the Fed holds off on an October rate hike. But then again, as Cowen points out, market fractals do not replicate themselves perfectly and what transpires may not follow previous cycles.
