An analyst with Crypto Capital Venture is of the opinion that while a 20% pullback in Ethereum is to be expected in the short run, it will only be a brief interlude prior to the onset of a more protracted bullish cycle.

In his view, the present dip is critical and may well put an end to five years of consolidation and usher in a new bull run for Ethereum. The monthly chart’s MACD has the line closing in on the signal, which is something one would expect ahead of a bullish reversal. As for the RSI, it is currently showing contraction; the analyst, however, anticipates a shift to the kind of expansion that is usually a harbinger of a bull market.

There are also signs of an inverse head and shoulders pattern on the daily chart as the right shoulder takes shape. That could mean a short-term drop to supports such as the 200-day moving average before any breakout. With the overall picture still looking bullish, the analyst sees this as perhaps the final chance to make a strong purchase and advises placing buy limit orders on ETH and altcoins when they dip.
