Altcoin Daily: bitcoin could hit $200,000 faster than $100,000 as whales accumulate
Zach Wainwright of Fidelity has put forward the view that Bitcoin may reach $200,000 in short order, even before it gets to $100,000, as the Altcoin Daily host reports. In Wainwright’s estimation, one would do well to see the present pullback as an accumulation opportunity.
The analyst contends that this correction is perhaps the last of its kind ahead of a big rally, and the way to $200,000 could be quicker than expected. There are parallels with earlier post-bottom rallies in the current price action; indeed, from the lows of June 2022, Bitcoin has gained 50%.
Wainwright is not discounting the prospect of considerable price appreciation for Bitcoin, even if returns are expected to wane eventually. He points to the buying spree by some of the larger investors in October, who have put in almost $800 million for BTC, or 90 percent of new supply. The crypto market at large is displaying resilience too: over three months, Bitcoin has gained 27% on gold. And should Bitcoin put $100,000 behind it, the Fidelity expert expects Ethereum to be at $7,500 when the year is done.
The Moon Show: sharp drop below $84,200 raises doubts about further BTC growth
The Moon Show has put to rest any bullish talk in light of Bitcoin’s precipitous slide from $85,000 to the $84,200 area. The analyst is calling for a more cautious approach and emphasizing risk management.
In what was a one-day affair, Bitcoin reached $85,000 only to fall back below $84,200 shortly after. That puts an end to the earlier call for an $87,400 top, as there was no sustained move above $84,200 to justify it.
Acknowledging the misstep, the analyst has little use for the hourly chart now and will be looking at daily and weekly figures. Traders were waiting for the daily chart to give them some confirmation of further gains after the pullback, yet the severity of the decline has put the near-term upside in question. An apology was offered for the poor judgment in the forecast; instead, the analyst urges traders to rely on stop-losses to contain any losses when the market turns.
VirtualBacon: targeting $90,000 by April before new all-time highs for Bitcoin
VirtualBacon’s author puts forward the case for Bitcoin reaching $90,000 in the run-up to April 2024 and from there starting a rally of fresh all-time proportions.
In arriving at this view, the analyst is guided by the two-year moving average of around $89,000, which is regarded as a realistic objective before a more substantial breakout. An outright move to $100,000 is not out of the question, much like the 2019 rally, but the author deems that improbable and cautions about the attendant volatility and risk of correction.
Should one look to break above $100,000, strong headwinds are to be expected given the support at $73,000 (the 200-day MA) and in the $76,000–$78,000 area of the 50-week MA. For now, VirtualBacon sees Bitcoin trading in a $75,000 to $90,000 band until April; once past that point, a new all-time high may be in the offing, in keeping with what technicals and earlier market cycles have shown.
