This call: BTC ▼ down — being checked by price until Oct 19

Bitcoin and the crypto market at large have recently reached some all-time highs and are now experiencing a brief period of cooling, says the host of Crypto World. In the days ahead, there will be little in the way of bullish momentum for BTC, the author predicts.

The analyst sees the US stock market as the cause of the current pullback in Bitcoin, pointing to the weakness of the NASDAQ 100 in particular. Yet one should not mistake this for an end to the longer-term bull trend; the weekly super trend indicator for BTC is still in the green.

At present, the asset is confined to a range with resistance between $86,000 and $88,000 and firm support from $80,000 to $82,000. The host is of the opinion that those figures will hold for the time being and one can expect more sideways action rather than any kind of breakout or breakdown.

The author at Blockchain Backer suggests that in the wake of the $1 billion liquidation, Bitcoin is more likely to enter a range-building period than to make any sudden upward or downward moves.

The fact that the crypto market has not experienced much volatility following the billion-dollar liquidation is an indication of stability now that the bear cycle has bottomed out, the trader says. He believes that the market has already seen its lowest point and that any talk of further declines with each correction is unwarranted.

A look at the technicals from Blockchain Backer shows oversold conditions and bullish divergence, as well as a move above the 50-week moving average. Still, he does not foresee a push to new all-time highs for some time; he expects four months of range-bound trading. The trader is candid that this kind of consolidation can be hard on sentiment and urges investors to be patient and realistic about what is a normal occurrence in a recovery. Given the sensitivity of the market, he also cautions against putting too much stock in what is being said on social media.
