This lesson brings together twelve exercises that cover the whole course, from your very first purchase to reviewing your own trading journal. You can do all of them on a demo account without risking your own money.

Key takeaways

The exercises follow the course levels in order: getting to know the market, orders, analysis, risk and psychology.

Every trade in the exercises is placed on a demo account with virtual USDT or in a free tournament.

Your main tool is a trading journal: without notes you won't know what worked and what didn't.

The goal is to drill rules and habits, not to make as much virtual money as possible.

In this lesson

How to work through the exercises

Getting to know the market: levels 0–2

Orders and strategy: level 3

Market analysis: level 4

Risk and psychology: levels 6–7

Final exercise: review your journal

How to work through the exercises

Each exercise reinforces a specific lesson from the course, so do them in order: the later ones build on skills from the earlier ones. Don't rush. Set aside anywhere from an evening to a week per exercise; the market will give you plenty of chances to practice.

First, start a journal, even if it's just notes on your phone or a simple spreadsheet. For every trade, log the date, pair, direction, reason for entry, stop-loss, target and outcome, plus one sentence about how you felt. You'll need these notes for the final exercise.

Treat your demo account like a real one. If you get used to putting your whole balance into one trade with virtual money, that habit won't go away when real money is on the line. A demo account is only useful if you take the rules seriously.

Tip · Don't chase results

If a trade closed at a loss but you followed every rule, the exercise is complete. A profitable trade where you ignored your stop-loss, on the other hand, counts as a failed exercise.

Getting to know the market: levels 0–2

The first exercises help you get comfortable with the interface and get a feel for how the crypto market behaves. You don't need to look for entry points yet: just watch calmly and notice the things beginners usually miss.

Write your observations down in your own words, even the obvious ones. A note like "a small coin moved as much in a day as Bitcoin does in a week" will stick better than a dry table, and later it'll stop you from betting too much on coins like that.

Stuck on the interface? Go back to the lesson on how to buy cryptocurrency.

For three days in a row, record the high and low of the daily candle for BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT and one small coin. Calculate the range as a percentage and see which coin has the biggest one.

Buy BTC with 100 virtual USDT using a market order, then sell it. Compare what you ended up with to what you started with and figure out where the difference came from: fees, the spread, price movement.

In the order book of any major exchange, compare the best bid and ask for BTC/USDT and for a little-known coin at the same moment. Write down the difference: that's the spread you pay on every trade.

Orders and strategy: level 3

Next, you'll learn to manage a trade with orders and to trade by rules rather than mood. Before these exercises, reread the lesson on order types and pick one strategy from the lesson on trading strategies.

Profit is secondary here; precise execution is what counts. If you entered without a signal or moved your stop, mark it in your journal as a violation.

Separately, count how many times you felt the urge to close a trade before the target or move your stop. Giving in to the impulse is the mistake, not the urge itself. This count shows how much emotions already affect your trading at this stage.

Place a limit buy order for ETH 2–3% below the current price. If it hasn't filled within 24 hours, cancel it and note how close the price got.

Make five trades, each with the stop-loss and target set right at entry. Never move the stop further away to give a losing trade more room.

Write down the rules for one strategy: pair, timeframe, entry signal, stop, target. Make ten trades by those rules over two weeks and log every deviation in your journal.

Market analysis: level 4

Now add analysis to your rules. The goal is to check whether levels and indicators actually work for you instead of taking them on faith. TradingView is handy for drawing levels and adding indicators, but open the trades themselves on your demo account.

If your sample is small and the results look random, that's fine. Keep logging your trades: after a few dozen, you'll be able to draw real conclusions.

Mark three support and resistance levels on the BTC/USDT daily chart. Open two trades off those levels with the stop placed beyond the level, and note whether the level held.

Pick one indicator, such as RSI or moving averages, write an entry rule based on it and test it on historical chart data: mark twenty signals and count how many would have been profitable.

Find three fresh BTC or ETH forecasts in the BuyCrypt blogger indicator. Write down your own view on each before the forecast plays out, and a week later compare who was more accurate.

Example · How to log an indicator test

"ETH on the 4-hour chart, RSI below 30, entry on the next candle, 3% stop, 6% target. Out of 20 signals, ten hit the target, seven hit the stop, three had to be closed manually." Numbers like these tell you more than any gut feeling.

Risk and psychology: levels 6–7

The last block is the most important one. It tests your behavior under pressure, not your knowledge. This is where most traders crack, so it's best to practice where a mistake costs nothing.

In this block, log not just your trades but your state too: did you sleep well, was it a rough day, were you distracted by the news? After a couple of weeks you'll see what state you trade worst in, and those are the hours you're better off skipping.

Free demo tournaments do a good job of simulating the pressure of real trading: rivals, deadlines and a leaderboard trigger both FOMO and the urge to win back your losses.

Size your position so that if the stop is hit, you lose exactly 1% of your demo balance. Make five trades using only this calculation.

Set a pause rule: if you see a sharp rally in a coin that isn't in your plan, wait an hour. Log every such case, and after a week count how many impulse trades you didn't make.

Join a free BuyCrypt trading tournament and set your limits in advance: maximum risk per trade and number of trades per day. After the tournament, compare your final rank with how many times you broke your limits.

Important · A tournament is no reason to risk it all

In a tournament it's tempting to go all-or-nothing for a spot on the leaderboard. On a real account that habit ends with a blown account, so keep the same limits you use in normal trading.

Final exercise: review your journal

Once you have at least thirty trades, start the review. Work out your win rate, average win and average loss, your longest losing streak and your maximum drawdown. Then list every rule violation separately, along with what it led to.

A review usually brings two things to light: which trades pay your bills (keep doing those) and which mistakes keep coming back, like entering without a stop, trading right after a loss or trading late at night. Compare them with the list in the lesson on common beginner trading mistakes and pick one to work on next month.

Then start a new cycle with your corrected rules. Make this review a monthly habit, even after you switch to a real account.

Metric

How to calculate it

What it tells you

Win rate

Winning trades divided by all trades

How often your signal works

Average win and average loss

Total wins and total losses divided by their count

Whether your wins cover your losses

Longest losing streak

The longest run of losing trades in a row

How much stress to prepare for

Rule violations

Number of trades that deviated from the plan

How disciplined you are

<circle cx="12" cy="12" r="9"/><circle cx="12" cy="12" r="5"/><circle cx="12" cy="12" r="1.5"/>

Lesson task

Start a trading journal: a spreadsheet with the columns "date, pair, direction, reason for entry, stop, target, outcome, how I felt", and make your first entry. On a demo account, buy BTC/USDT with 100 virtual USDT using a market order and sell it right away, then record in your journal how much USDT came back and where the difference came from. That's exercise 2 from this lesson; do the rest in order in the same journal.

Learn and earnFree tournaments every day — your way to USDT prizes

Entry is free and you trade on a demo account, so you need no money of your own. There's no need to hurry: some exercises require watching the market for several days, and drawing conclusions about a strategy takes a sample of trades.

</details>
<details>

When should I switch from a demo account to a real one?

Discipline matters more than profit. If you've gone a month with hardly any rule violations and you understand your weak spots, you can start with a small amount. Just keep in mind that emotions run hotter with real money.

</details>
<details>

What should I do if I fail an exercise?

Write down exactly what went wrong and do the exercise again. A failure is a result too: it shows which rule you struggle with, and that's exactly the one to work on.

</details>
<details>

Can I skip the analysis exercises?

You can, but it's better not to. Without testing levels and indicators on your own trades, you'll be trading on other people's opinions. Even if you end up dropping technical analysis, that decision should rest on your own records.

</details>

Crypto trading practice after the course: 12 hands-on demo account exercises, from your first trade and orders to risk management, FOMO and journal review.

Crypto trading practice after the course: 12 hands-on demo account exercises, from your first trade and orders to risk management, FOMO and journal review.
[16352

post-54381","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-crypto-school","resize-featured-image
["GET
