All eyes are on the XRP price prediction put forward by crypto analyst Dark Defender, who has a $36.76 target for the token in 2027 based on an Elliott wave pattern. It is a bold call and one of many optimistic forecasts being made for the top tier of cryptocurrencies.

Dark Defender of The Modern Investor says XRP should be trading at $36.76 a coin by 2027. In his view, the present price action of XRP is just one part of a multi-wave sequence; technical analysis using Elliott wave theory suggests that what comes next could push the token to all-time highs. The Elliott wave is a favorite among traders for its ability to spot recurring patterns in market sentiment and project where prices will go.

Such is the ambition of the projection from an analyst like Dark Defender, yet it is in keeping with the general tenor of opinion among those who see big gains coming to the crypto market. For their part, XRP investors are searching for some catalyst to regain momentum.

There is a notable upsurge in high-profile predictions for digital assets. Some have pegged Bitcoin at $1 million for 2024 and Ethereum at $44,000 over the course of the year. One need only look at MicroStrategy for evidence of the confidence these numbers inspire: the institutional heavyweight has increased its Bitcoin position to 848,000 BTC, or close to $64 billion, in a move that may well underpin future valuations.

Other developments in the market are set to have an impact on price as well. VanEck’s Matthew Siegel posits that a Bitcoin with half the market cap of gold would be worth $500,000, a considerable change in global asset valuation. Then there is the matter of policy and infrastructure. In France, for instance, executives are proposing a tax on stablecoin conversions as a way to make things simpler for users. And Ki Young Ju of CryptoQuant foresees that as institutions make inroads outside the U.S., better liquidity in stablecoins and similar assets will open up cryptocurrencies to a global audience.
