Such a mixed bag of politics is likely to bring its share of volatility, but also long-term prospects for the market.<\/p>\n
There is a pattern in the historical record: September and October tend to be soft months for conventional stock markets in the run-up to a midterm election. Paul Barron would argue, though, that what weighs on equities can be an advantage for crypto, with investors turning to it as an alternative for growth.<\/p>\n
Then there is the matter of regulation. The SEC put forward a proposal for new crypto asset rules on August 18, and with the window for public comment not closing until October 20, it is a defining issue for the sector this month. Whether or not regulators provide some clarity will be felt by Uniswap and the market at large.<\/p>\n
The founder of Uniswap has made a rather bold prediction for the platform, one that sees the UNI token making its way to $100 in time. Given the token is currently around $9, such a forecast implies tremendous room for growth if it materializes, though not without its fair share of risk.<\/p>\n
There is a general air of optimism in the market that can be seen in Ethereum as well. Tom Lee, an analyst, points to the bullish mood in crypto by referencing the uptick in ETH buying and ongoing acquisitions from firms such as BitMine.<\/p>\n
But with the midterms on the horizon, Paul Barron would have investors expect some price volatility in the crypto space. He is quick to note, however, that the long-term outlook is solid and that political gridlock could yet create opportunities for digital assets.
