Jack Foley, who heads up support and strategy at Visa, says the platform gives clients an all-in-one way to handle everything from minting to moving and managing these assets. \u201cWe\u2019re offering the kind of control, security, and scale you would expect from our global infrastructure,\u201d Foley said. In short, it is meant to make life easier for any institution looking to get into digital assets, with a smooth-running network already in place to do the heavy lifting.<\/p>\n
You can see the writing on the wall with the introduction of the Visa Stablecoin Platform: the big names in finance are moving to make room for blockchain assets in the world of traditional banking. Back in October 2022, the company released some numbers showing how stablecoins might be able to siphon off some of the $40 trillion in global credit to blockchains, with an eye on more than $670 billion in lending down the line.<\/p>\n
Then there is the matter of being the first of the major payments firms to come on board as a super validator for the Canton network, which Visa did last year. It is a case in point for how established institutions are testing the waters with stablecoins and tokenization.<\/p>\n
Then there are the likes of HSBC and BNP Paribas, which have joined the Canton Foundation in recent times to accelerate the tokenization of real-world assets.
