Then you have John Thune, the Senate Majority Whip, who made it plain that we shouldn\u2019t expect to see the Clarity Act come up for a vote before the summer break. That kind of news sharpens the anxiety around the bill. It is this kind of legislative standoff that is behind the volatility and has put a damper on any bullishness in the market.<\/p>\n
According to Jeff, a drop below the 20-day exponential moving average is something to watch for; it could put Bitcoin on a fast track to $60,000. Should that support give way, we may be in for a more thorough correction, with the $50,000 area in view if there are more holdups with the Clarity Act or if it doesn\u2019t make it through in 2024.<\/p>\n
Then you have the legislative side of things adding to the headwinds. It\u2019s not hard to see why some in the market are being circumspect and why trading has been quiet in recent weeks. A protracted pullback is very much on the table for the next few months.<\/p>\n
Jeff is not one to let the near-term jitters from the Bitcoin Clarity Act get in the way of his view on the bigger picture. In his estimation, a further pullback in price is possible, but he expects to see a firm floor put in around $40,000 to $50,000 ahead of a comeback later in the year.<\/p>\n
There may be some selling pressure when the Act is finally made law, as the market digests what it means. But Jeff sees that as a necessary step toward a healthy bull run. What\u2019s more, he envisions this next leg up being driven by a wave of retail money, a far cry from the kind of activity seen from institutions and early movers in past rallies, which could well put Bitcoin at all-time highs before the year is out.<\/p>\n
