The $3 billion in cash on Strategy\u2019s books is a clear indication of the company\u2019s sound finances and its capacity to back bitcoin as a liquid asset. In doing so, it is putting to rest any market apprehensions and showing it can stand firm in the face of crypto volatility.<\/p>\n
As was covered on the most recent Incrypted, Strategy has put together this reserve by offloading some of its holdings. It is a way of providing a financial cushion and underscoring the company\u2019s dedication to stability while the wider crypto market goes through its usual gyrations. Yet for all that, there are no intentions to curb the buildup of their more than 800,000 bitcoins.<\/p>\n
One could view the size of the reserve as a testament to Strategy\u2019s risk management. It affords the company the means to carry on with its operations and its bitcoin plans without being swayed by short-term market noise. One does not come across such confidence in this industry these days, not after what happened with FTX. In the wake of Strategy putting its solid financials on record, there has been a recovery in the price of its preferred stock. Management has made it known that it plans to bring those shares back to nominal value, a move designed to open the door for further capital raising down the line.<\/p>\n
Such measures do more than put Strategy\u2019s own house in order; they are a statement of corporate responsibility in the crypto space. One could say it sets a standard for the industry.
