MetaMask confirmed over the weekend that it will launch a new onchain rewards program in the coming weeks, allocating more than $30 million in Linea tokens for its inaugural season. The wallet app described the initiative as «one of the largest onchain rewards programs ever built» while emphasizing it is «not a farming play» but rather a way to «regularly give back» to users.<\/p>\n
The rewards program will offer referral bonuses, mUSD incentives, exclusive partner rewards, token access and other perks. Long-time users will receive special benefits, with the program explicitly connected to the long-anticipated MetaMask token. The team indicated that early adopters will not be overlooked, hinting at special allocations for original users.<\/p>\n
Linea is Consensys’ Ethereum layer-2 network that launched in September with a 9.4 billion token airdrop. By allocating $30 million in Linea tokens for MetaMask Rewards, the company is linking two flagship projects and leveraging MetaMask’s user base to drive activity on the new rollup. MetaMask’s mUSD stablecoin, issued by Stripe-owned Bridge, launched last month and currently has a circulating supply near $88 million. With rewards partially tied to mUSD usage, the program creates incentives across wallet, stablecoin and layer-2 infrastructure.<\/p>\n
