{"id":21331,"date":"2024-08-06T16:55:09","date_gmt":"2024-08-06T16:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buycrypt.com\/blog\/?p=21331"},"modified":"2026-07-14T15:50:37","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T15:50:37","slug":"microstrategy-mstr-plummets-22-as-crypto-stocks-suffer-during-market-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buycrypt.com\/blog\/en\/microstrategy-mstr-plummets-22-as-crypto-stocks-suffer-during-market-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"MicroStrategy (MSTR) Plummets 22% As Crypto Stocks Suffer During Market Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Crypto companies all felt pain Monday morning, though the stock market open also marked a mild recovery for the crypto market broadly.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Crypto stocks tanked at Monday\u2019s U.S. market open following a disastrous crypto market crash late Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in MicroStrategy (MSTR), the world\u2019s largest corporate owner of Bitcoin, now trade for $1,212 \u2013 16% down from Friday\u2019s close.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meanwhile, Coinbase (COIN) \u2013 the largest and only publicly traded cryptocurrency exchange in the United States \u2013 trades at $181, down 11% since Friday.<\/li>\n<li>As for Bitcoin mining firms, the Valkyrie Bitcoin Miners ETF (WGMI) sank by 10.8% since Friday to $16.50 per share.<\/li>\n<li>CleanSpark (CLSK), one of the best-performing mining stocks this year, now trades for $11.29, meaning its shares are up just 3.77% since January 1.<\/li>\n<li>Some of the worst hit stocks are MicroStrategy \u2018copycats\u2019 \u2013 firms that have grown popular as BTC proxies after making Bitcoin a reserve asset on their balance sheet.<\/li>\n<li>DeFi Technologies (DEFTF), the Canadian fintech firm, is down 24% from Friday\u2019s close to just $1.14.
