VirtualBacon's call on ETH for October 18, 2026: where the author expects the price to go and which levels matter. Other bloggers' calls are added here during the day. This is the author's opinion, not investment advice.
Ethereum may find a floor at $2,250 if Bitcoin retreats to its $78,000 support, says VirtualBacon. The analyst has issued a warning that with Ethereum currently trading weaker than Bitcoin, there is potential for further downside if Bitcoin declines.
Normally, Ethereum trades at about 1.3 times the volatility of Bitcoin, so a 10% pullback in the latter would result in an ETH decline of around 13%, as VirtualBacon points out. At the moment, Bitcoin is near $82,000, but Ethereum has dropped to $2,400 and is showing more weakness than usual.
A 4% move by Bitcoin from $82,000 down to $78,000 would likely see Ethereum drop by 5% or more, with the analyst identifying support around $2,250. Still, anything below $2,400 is considered undervalued by VirtualBacon; the $2,400-$2,200 range is seen as a prime buying area, assuming Bitcoin holds its bull market support between $76,000 and $78,000. Under current conditions, the channel notes that Ethereum is already at the lower end of that range.
