CryptoWendyO would have one think the latest round of institutional ties for Ripple ought to be good for XRP, yet the price has been unresponsive to such favorable news. The firm has announced a number of high-profile partnerships: with Evernorth, Striped Privy, and Merck Securities among them.
To give an idea of the scope, Ripple has made public a $473 million XRP treasury being managed by Evernorth in conjunction with Kraken, Coinbase, and BitGo. Striped Privy will be integrating XRP and RLUSD payments into its apps to spare users from having to handle private keys. In South Korea, Merck Securities is in talks with Ripple over tokenization and digital asset custody. There is also the matter of DriveWealth, with whom Ripple is working to make RLUSD available for investing in Europe and beyond.
Still, as CryptoWendyO points out, XRP has not made any move to capitalize on the bullish headlines and continues to lag, in step with the rest of the market. One can attribute this to macro headwinds, inflation, and CPI numbers that are tough on crypto; being a large cap, XRP tends to track what Bitcoin is doing. The channel draws a parallel with Uniswap and other coins that have had their share of a post-news spike only to retrace it shortly after.
